This elegant, gender-neutral Christening gown will simply take your breath away! Design makes it perfect for boys or girls.
I designed this Baptism gown replicating the Antique Victorian/Edwardian style of the late 1800’s. You will see gowns like this in old, antique photos, and available as antiques to purchase. Rarely do you find this luxurious styling in a new garment without the aged fabrics/trims. This gown is entirely constructed with new fabrics and trims, but keeping the “old world” heirloom style.
The gown, bonnet, and separate slip are made of 100% Imported Swiss Batiste. The magnificent center panel is constructed with hand pieced sections of lovely embroidered medallion Swiss insertion, 2″ Swiss trim with scallop edging, 1/4″ tucks, French lace, and entredeux insertion. The sides of the panel are bordered with 2″ Swiss trim in the antique style of “robings” This center panel is simply exquisite in portraits.
Available in short or long sleeves. Sleeves and neckline are trimmed in a sweet scallop 1/4″ trim.
The hem of the gown is finished with entredeux and an embroidered 4″ Swiss scallop edging.
A separate slip trimmed with 1/4″ French lace at the lower edge is included. Also included is the option to embroider your baby’s name and Christening date on the slip. The simple bonnet features the coordinating French lace and 2″ Swiss Scallop edging. Ties with 1/2″ silk ribbon ties, and features an adjustable back silk ribbon tie for an excellent fit.
French seams throughout, and three mother of pearl buttons complete the gown.
Very easy to care for! Gentle Hand Washing and line dry.
